Prof. Anna Bindler, Ph.D.

Anna Bindler is Professor of Applied Microeconomics at the University of Potsdam and Head of the Crime, Labor and Inequality Department at DIW Berlin. Her research is in applied microeconomics, with a particular focus on crime, labor and inequality. Her research analyzes the economic and social causes and consequences of illegal behavior, the interaction between labor markets, inequality and crime, and the role of policy and institutions in this context. Her research has been published in leading international journals, including the American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, Economic Journal, Journal of the European Economic Association, Journal of Labor Economics and Review of Economics and Statistics. She received her PhD in Economics from University College London in 2015 and subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher/assistant professor at the University of Gothenburg and later as a professor at the University of Cologne.
